FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers about the new computer system!

This is the most exciting part of the new system! You now have a universal card, which offers fantastic benefits. You can borrow books from multiple local libraries, including Blue Rapids Public Library, Frankfort City Library, and Waterville Public Library, all with the same card. Additionally, you can return books at any of these libraries, and they will automatically be sent back to the owning library.

You also have the flexibility to pick up any holds at any library. For instance, if you live in Waterville but work in Marysville, you can choose the location that’s most convenient for you. When searching for items, you’ll be able to see what’s available at all local libraries and beyond. If you reserve something that isn’t available at our library, it will be shipped to your preferred pick-up location!

Yes, but we will still be able to look up your past number! If you’d like or need to know your new number, think of it in fourteen digits….2687500000XXXX or 268750000XXXXX–the Xs standing in for your previous card number. Add zeroes if your card number is even smaller than four or five digits!

(Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to memorize it, and we can still look you up with your previous number! We can even still scan your “old” card — so keep it handy!)

Great question! All previous saved links or bookmarks need to be changed to https://nckls.bywatersolutions.com/. When you get to the website, use your new fourteen-digit number. Your password is the last four digits of your phone number we have on file. If you cannot log in, please contact us and we will assist!

We are not printing cards with previous numbers (and the additional numbers). However, if you want to start all over with a brand-new number, then sure! Don’t forget — we can look you up with your previous number — we can even scan your “old” card. We can also look you up in our system by your name.

Yes!

Log in with your NEW Koha number. As a reminder of what your new number will be, every new card will start with “26875” and will have your “old” number at the end. Fill up the middle of the number with zeroes to fourteen digits.

For example, old card numbers will be things like 333, or 3333, or 13333. New Koha numbers will be filled up to fourteen digits, like 26875000000333, or 26875000003333, or 26875000013333.

No PIN should be required.

If you are having problems logging on, please contact us.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any problems at all!

Yes! We would be happy to order them for you. It is a different process, but we are happy to help you out. Please contact the library at 785-562-2491 for more information.

A “hold” takes the place of many previous interlibrary loan requests. Because you now have a universal card, you can…

  • Check out a book at multiple local libraries, like Blue Rapids Public Library, Frankfort City Library, and Waterville Public Library — and use the same card!
  • Return books at any of those libraries and they will automatically be shipped back to the owning library — so no more worries about what book goes where.
  • Choose to pick up any holds at any library! So, if you live in Waterville but you work in Marysville, select the most convenient location to pick up your items!
  • Search the catalog, and it will show you the items available at any of the local libraries (and more). Put it on reserve, and if it is not available at our library, it will automatically be shipped to your preferred pick up location!
  • Have access to multiple libraries’ worth of items — so holds will come quicker to you at your preferred library.

Don’t worry — we are happy to work with you however it works best for you. Thank you for your patience!
