On Thursday, April 16 at 12:15 pm, we’ll be connecting with Shannon at the Cosmosphere to discuss Spacesuits: A Brief History. Join us at the library for a great program!
Spacesuits are vital, full-body spacecraft that protect astronauts from the harsh environment of space, and this program explores how spacesuits make it possible for humans to work, explore, and survive beyond Earth. From the pressure suits first developed for high-altitude pilots to the sophisticated Extravehicular Mobility Units used on the International Space Station, spacesuits have evolved to provide life support, mobility, and shielding from extreme temperatures and radiation.
All Library U: Higher Learning for Adults programs are open to any age but are geared toward adults. For more information, call 785-562-2491.
