Themed storytime, including books, rhymes/songs, movement, and a simple craft. Caregivers welcome and encouraged to accompany child. (45 min.)

Summer Reading at the library will be an adventure! We’ll explore such topics as camping, hiking survival, and s’mores! We will go on adventures in the library that will be exciting and fun. (45 min.)

New in 2024 – Library staff will pick out and read aloud an excerpt from an adventure-themed chapter book, while listeners “chill out” will a popsicle while listening to the story. This is going to be structured more for school-age children, who are old enough to stay independently at the library. (30-45 min.) Book examples: Choose-Your-Own Adventure, National Park Mystery Series, The Campground Kids, etc.Â
Shorter themed storytime, with shorter books, more singing and movement, and some type of enrichment activity. Caregivers attend with child. (30 min.)
Age-appropriate book talk and book share, and activity or craft. (45 min.)
Adventures abound at the library for all teenagers during this summer’s program. We’ll play board and video games, craft, and just have a good time while showing off the awesomeness of the library. (1 hr.)

June 13 at 6:30 pm: Make Your Own Terrarium! Craft with us and enjoy a great parting gift–your very own terrarium. Registration is requested at 785-562-2491.
June 27 at 6:30 pm: Amazing Race–Library Edition! Sign up your group for this fun and active race around the world. Registration is requested at 785-562-2491.
July 11 at 6:30 pm: Coordinates of Special Location Craft! Memorialize a special place in time with this adventurous craft. Registration is requested at 785-562-2491.
